The All-Time Teams: 30 Cities and 30 City-States

For the next month or so, until New Year's Eve, I'll be listing the All-Decade Teams for each of the 30 NHL franchises. Alongside that study, I'll take a look at what the league might look like if franchises were awarded based upon territorial rights.

Now I'm not suggesting at all that teams should move from Philadelphia to Barrie, Ontario. I just thought it would be fun to see where the players come from and to group them regionally with others from their neck of the woods.

Vidi Vici: Niedermayer Sets Off Massive Fan Brawl

Anyone happen to catch last night's Ducks / Lightning game in Anaheim? Niedermayer ends up scoring the overtime winner on the power play, so naturally he is named the First Star.

So he does his little First Star skate-around salute thing, then tries to give his stick to some little girl in the first row. Check this out:




I love the way the Fox Sports guy is all like, "So .... what are they, fighting over your stick over there or something?"

Apparently one of the combattants is sometimes Ducks blogger, and full-time street fighting afficiando, Mike Vallely. Turns out the stick may have been intended for his daughter. Imagine that. The one time you try and steal a game-stick from a little girl and her Pops ends up being this guy.
